Studio Shoot #6: Whole Crew Meeting With Rosie
Friday 20th Nov. '20
Key Points From Meeting:
- Set design: instead of having an empty room, have furniture with white cloth draped over them.
- There needs to be less objects in the box and those objects have to have a significant meaning to his life and maybe lead or point to the
- We need to have the shots broken down further in to a fully drawn out story boards and not just a shot list so it can be more visual.
- We need a backstory for character.
- Too much repetition with the objects - need to minimise this - therefore nothing much happens in the middle
-The logistics of where the bench would be on set or if it would that exterior scene would be filmed in the Farnham Park and then we would have to figure out how the transition on to the set would work in post.
- What kind of lights would we use for the set bulbs hanging in the room - resulted in going with the idea of using festoon lights
-As we haven't started thinking about a plan B if we had to film outside instead of on set. We need to have a back up plan that is some what thought through and developed in terms of the set and how this will affect the story line.
A few of us were also able to have a look in to G12, where the studio shoot will be held. This was great as we were able to assess how big the area was and look at how big the flats were too. The camera crew were able to look at how much space we would have to film and move around, as well as the lighting already rigged up in the studio that would be available to us.
At the end of the session, we were able as a whole crew to sit together and discuss what needed to be worked on and figure out which questions in particular needed to be answered. Furthermore, I felt that we worked really well in this talk as we were all understanding that there were steps that had to be taken before we can move on. It was also nice that we could hear ideas that had been developed already from other departments and so we could catch up on ideas in order to all be on the same page with the shoot.
Things we needed to do:
1. Develop script in to one solid final outcome
2. Create a shot list ready for Tuesday camera workshop so we can discuss all the ideas we have and what the best ways to achieve this would be.
3. Have a full story board - shot by shot.
