Year 1 - First Blog
Kaitlan Bachan
Favourite colour :
Yellow
Favourite film at the moment:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind (2004) Michael Gondry
This film has always been a favourite of mine as it has such a surreal and unpredictable narrative. It focuses on memories and love but explores both themes in a weird and hypothetical nature as he delves in to the protagonists mind. I particularly love the cinematography (cinematographer- Ellen Kraus) in this as the film style adapts to what happens in the movie through out.

And
Leon: The Proffessional
Guilty Pleasure Film:
Brother Bear
Favourite Artist, Photographer or Filmmaker :
Darren Aronofsky is well known for being an obsessive director who wants to capture his visions with the most accuracy. He explores his own obsessions on to the characters in his films such as Pi (1998), Black Swan (2010), Requiem for a Dream (2000) and many more. Each film has its own style and aesthetic look but the underlying concern is present in them all which I think is very interesting.
Summer Project - Series:
For the summer photographic series project, I decided to look at natural light and its warmth. I was inspired by Vilhelm Hammershoi's monotone paintings of interiors. He explored natural lighting and spatial construction.
